I created this wedding makeup look when I tried all 10 shades of Eye of Horus Velvet Lips Matte Lipsticks! My favourites were Enchantress Nude and Siren Black Cherry, which really reminded me of boho-chic, romantic wedding makeup. I’m obsessed with the boho wedding look at the moment.

On a side note, I’ve been following @grace_loves_lace on Instagram and really love their style. I think the Velvet Lips Matte Lipstick really suit this kind of style and would recommend for you or your friend’s wedding day, whether you are the radiant bride or a stunning bridesmaid. I’ve done a simple updo with my hair but you could easily team up this look with long wavy hair and a flower crown. If you want to know what products I used for this wedding makeup look, then keep reading!

Don’t forget to start off with your essential skincare regime – Cleanse, Tone, Hydrate! I’m currently using Oasis Solar Serum, as at the age of 30 I’m starting to get pigmentation from all my years in the harsh NZ sun. I follow up with Oasis SPF25 Power Punch Moisturiser, which will help prevent further pigmentation and sun damage.

Foundation

My current go-to is Ere Perez Oat Milk Foundation. They reformulated this foundation and it’s amazing. The old formulation was a bit sticky and hard to blend. The new formulation has a slightly dewy finish and is very easy to apply, blend and build coverage. Although, it has great coverage even with a small amount applied and evens out imperfections in my skin tone. It’s summer so I’m using chai, but I’ll switch back to the lighter honey shade in winter. To finish it off, I applied a layer of Inika Baked Mineral Foundation in Inspiration to mattify the look.

Concealer

I’ve used Ere Perez Arnica Concealer in chai. This is the best concealer I’ve ever used, to be honest – I love it. It really does conceal and has great staying power! At the same time, I’ve noticed it helps heal imperfections such as pimples and reduces redness. That’s the great thing about natural ingredients such as arnica that are known for their healing properties.

Bronzer – Contour – Highlighter

I’m not a big of the contour rage, which involves an extreme amount of what I would call ‘face painting’, I like to use a dark neutral blush or bronzer and a highlighter to accentuate my cheekbones and natural angles of my face (I still want to look like me). I used Ere Perez Rice Powder Bronzer – Tulum, by brushing the top of my cheekbones. Then, I used Inika Certified Organic Creme Illuminiser in spice (a dab high on the cheekbones, forehead, bridge of the nose and a touch above the lips), anywhere the light would naturally hit your face first. Lastly, I used Inika Mineral Blusher Puff Pot in rosy glow on the apple of my cheeks, so cute and easy to apply, just 1 or 2 dabs!

Eyes

I wanted to keep my eyes neutral so the lips would be the main focus. I used a touch of arnica concealer as a base on my eyelids and then applied the lightest (cream) shade from the Ere Perez Eye Shadow Palette in Pretty all over my lid. Using a concealer as a base helps with staying power – especially important for wedding makeup. I followed up with the second neutral brown shade in the crease and along my lower lash line. I used the Bronze Ere Perez Eye Pencil on my lower lash line (but only halfway across as I think this suits my eye shape better, sometimes too much eyeliner can make your eyes look smaller) and on the upper lash line with a small flick out the side.

For mascara, I used my current favourite, the Bio Vegan Mascara from Eye of Horus. I just love the unique wand; so easy to apply, separate and lengthen the lashes. Plus it’s great for sensitive eyes, being a natural formulation.

Brows

Sometimes I go lighter and sometimes I go darker. My hair colour changes with the seasons and being a dark blonde naturally, means sometimes I’m closer to blonde and sometimes I’m closer to brunette. This means I can get away with changing my brow colour depending on my mood. For this look, I used Inika Certified Organic Brow Pencil in Brunette Beauty (but I also use Ere Perez Almond Oil Brow Pencil, Eye of Horus  Brow Define or Dual Brow Husk and Inika Brow Pencil in Blonde Bombshell). This added a bit more definition and drama to my brows.

Lips

I used Eye of Horus Velvet Lips Matte Lipstick. Check out my other blog post which shows all the lipstick shades using this look and why I love this product soo much. For Wedding Makeup I suggest, Siren Black Cherry for a romantic bold lip or Entrantress Buff for a natural glamour look.
